Lodging
We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Denver. This hotel was amazing! Great location, beautiful rooms, the amenities were fantastic as well as our room. During our stay, a mandatory law was in effect, state wide, that face-masks must be worn in all public areas. We wore our mask throughout the hotel with the exception of when we were in our room and at the bar drinking.
Our room was a corner king and it was such a great view of the city and the mountains in the background. We LOVED waking up to the view. The room was spacious and featured a kitchenette area, roomy bathroom and a full length mirror.
After we got dressed and before we went to explore Denver, we stopped at the bar to grab a drink. It was a nice little area and there is a drink for everyone!
Restaurants and Things to do
We felt a little adventurous so we walked .7 miles to the Union Station Area and stopped at Machete Tequila and Tacos for dinner. Can I say YUM?! Of course I got chips and salsa (I’m addicted) and had three tacos (the shrimp one was my favorite). Jordan got a salad, and we both got skinny Margaritas. It was delicious and ALL of their margaritas are doubles, with the exception of the Cadillac which is a triple. We sat outside and had a cool view of Union Station.
After we had a great dinner, we decided to walk around Union Station and explore that some. After that, we rented a scooter from Lyft (there were all kinds parked on the street, and we drove the scooter around downtown and had the BEST time! We ended up at a Chili’s to have another drink before heading back to our hotel for the night. It was such a quick trip to Denver, but it was awesome!

Red Rock Amphitheater
This place is a MUST! You can easily spend several hours here, well we did haha. This place is obviously gorgeous, but could you imagine attending a concert here? It would be awesome! There were several other people visiting here and working out. I even attempted running the stairs on the way up and I couldn’t do it. Besides that, just look how pretty it is!
After we spent some time and explored the Red Rocks, we decided just to go on a drive and see what we could find. With technology the way it is now, it is just about impossible to get lost. We ended up at a state park called Lair o’ the Bear Park. We decided to park and hike. There were several other people there as well and it was cool walking the trails. After this, we ended up in the town of Morrison and it was so small and cute! We stopped at the Roof Top Tavern to get a beer. It was so nice! We had lunch at Red Rocks Grill and it was good as well. After we experienced this town some, we headed to our cabin in the mountains!
Thank you all so much for being here! XOXO,
Nickie
